The mission of the Free Library of Philadelphia is to advance literacy, guide learning, and inspire curiosity. Its vision is to build an enlightened community devoted to lifelong learning .

Programs: In 2012, the Free Library of

Philadelphia received an Institute of Museum and Library Services/MacArthur Learning Labs in Libraries and Museums Grant to plan a teen center in the Parkway Central location with three inputs: teens, Library staff, and community partners (in particular, the PYMC community). From craft to college prep, movie screenings to filmmaking, the Free Library has a wide range of programs for teens, and is excited about expanding its youth services. Visit the Teen Space at the Parkway Central Library on Vine Street, find programs around the city or find your next great read.

A brief look at the work of teens as they co-design the new teen library space.
