PYMC is excited to support David Cooper Moore from the Center for Media and Information Literacy to travel to the Alliance for Community Media conference in San Francisco May
His proposal is as follows:
This request is to represent Temple University and the Philadelphia Youth Media Collaborative at the Alliance for Community Media national conference in San Francisco, May 29-31, 2013.
The stipend will help support airfare, hotel, and conference registration to attend the conference.
As a broader point for professional development, I will be participating in a special session on youth media support locally and nationally with representatives of major youth media collaboratives and national youth media organizations. The take-away, as discussed by participants of this workshop, is to develop a set of shared resources for youth media between three national organizationsACM, NAMAC, and NAMLE.
The program will be documented with an official write-up to be shared on the PYMC blog and a possible share-out event afterward with
participants from ACM meeting in Philadelphia with leaders in youth media in the area. Possible action steps for sustaining youth media at the national level will be discussed among several youth media groups in different regions of the U.S., including the Bay Area, New York, and Chicago.
Implementation date is May 29-31, with a
follow-up in early June to share the results and possible next steps from the panel.
